By: Tom Ward KTR Contributor The Clippers had lost 18 straight games against the Spurs dating back to 2006. On Wednesday, The Clippers closed the first half with an 18-2 run, turning an eight-point deficit into an eight-point lead. Blake Griffin then scored seven of his 31 points in the first 2 minutes of the second half to extend the lead to 13 and San Antonio never got closer than three. Blake Griffin who was hurt all last year may be the leading contender to win Rookie of the Year. Yes that was Rookie, even though Griffin came in the the league two years ago. He missed all of his rookie season due to a stress fracture in his knee cap. Griffin, however, jumps out of the gym and is a huge, explosive finisher. I believe that Blake Griffin will be hands down Rookie of the Year.
